School Pantry Program

School Pantry Program

Nearly half of the children enrolled in the Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) face economic hardship, often leading to food insecurity. Research indicates that this can have severe consequences for a child’s development, health, and behavior. To address this issue, the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry's School Pantry Program provides easy-to-eat snacks and fresh fruit to OASD schools and alternative learning programs. These items help ensure that children in need can stay focused on learning and avoid the distractions of hunger. These snacks currently include fresh fruit, granola bars and fruit bars and currently serve over 4,000 students weekly.
